Andrew is a fully qualified UK and European Patent Attorney with a Master’s degree in Physics. Before becoming a Patent Attorney, Andrew worked as a Principal Scientist for 12 years at a defence science and technology organisation.

During his tenure as a Principal Scientist, Andrew played a significant role in the defence sector, specializing in the development of mathematical models, design, and testing of electronic systems, particularly in radio frequency systems. Andrew has extensive experience working on radar and electronic warfare technologies.

His contributions included serving as the technical lead for multinational trials for NATO, earning him the Chief Scientific Adviser Special Commendation Award. Andrew also provided insights to government entities on intellectual property conditions within research contracts and led a project to enhance the intellectual property strategy within government.

In 2018, Andrew began training as an in-house Patent Attorney and joined private practice in 2022. He has in-depth experience with drafting and prosecution of Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) as well as patents in the fields of defence, aerospace, telecommunications, electronics, software, meditech and mechanical engineering before the UK and European Patent Offices. In addition, Andrew has particular experience with classified patent applications at the UK Patent Office.
